Accent Nene delivers festive cheer to new Paston
residents
Accent Nene delivered some festive cheer to residents moving
into brand new homes in Ulverston Close, in the Paston area of
Peterborough. The event marked the completion of the first 15 home
phase of the development, with a further 33 homes to follow.
Local councillor Sue Day and Ian Denton, Accent Nene's local
housing officer, dropped in on the first residents to deliver
Christmas wishes and a welcome pack of festive goodies. The treats
were presented in eco friendly bags and included Christmas
chocolates for the children.
Accent Nene housing officer Ian Denton said: "It is always
stressful to be moving into a new home, particularly at Christmas,
so we at Accent Nene were delighted to be able to deliver a little
festive cheer to the new residents at Ulverston Close.
"The homes on the Ulverston Close development are built to a
high standard of sustainability and help to provide a boost to the
area in terms of regeneration."
As well as developing the site for much needed new homes, Accent
Nene was successful in securing £50,000 of Lottery funding to
provide a children's play area on this scheme which will open as
the development is completed in 2008.
Commenting on the funding Councillor Sue Day said: "I am
delighted that Accent Nene was able to secure the funding to enable
us to provide a children's play area on this scheme. It is
important that children have a safe environment at the heart of the
community in which to play.
"I was very pleased to go along today and help Accent Nene staff
deliver some festive cheer to the new residents."
