Q. Who can apply for housing?
A. Applicants
should normally be aged 18 or over, although in exceptional
circumstances we can accept applications from those aged 16 to 18.
We aim to provide housing to people on a low income, which is
usually below the average earnings for the area where they live. We
do not normally house people who are already home-owners but if an
applicant's home is not adequate for their needs and they are on a
low income with only little savings we may be able to assist.
Q. What happens after I have made an application?
A. We normally
respond to applicants within two weeks to let them know if their
application is accepted or not. We normally respond to applicants
within two weeks to let them know if their application is accepted
or not. If accepted, a number of reasonable checks are made on a
person's circumstances including a visit to where they are
currently living. We can also at that time answer any questions
they have. If the applicant has any special needs or requires
support of any kind we will establish this early to help us fully
understand their housing needs.

size and location Our homes are a mix of flats and houses and which

composition and any medical needsApplicants are generally able to
state a preference for the location they would like to live but as
vacancies are limited we encourage applicants to provide us with as
wide a choice as possible If applicants have any support, medical
or disability needs we try to match those needs with the type of
accommodation offered
Q. Does Accent Nene provide a waiting list for all
homes?

are allocated varies from area to area. Although we do not have a
