Supported Housing

Some accommodation provided by Accent Nene has support attached to it. This support provides assistance with life skills to the residents living there. The support may be short term to help through a difficult period or might be longer term for older residents in sheltered accommodation.

Floating support is available to tenants who need help either starting or maintaining their tenancy. This could be help with budgeting, life skills, finding jobs, and education. Floating support workers also help with drug dependency, alcoholism, and much more.

If you feel you might need support please contact your housing officer, who will arrange an assessment with an allocated support worker. Please be advised that support may not always be available immediately

If you live on one of our sheltered schemes this service is provided by your scheme manager.

Working in partnership with Huntingdonshire District Council Accent Nene has a supported housing scheme in Huntingdonshire. Nene has ten properties scattered through the district for homeless families.

The council refers homeless families to us, from hostels, women's refuge centres, prisons, etc. Families are given a short tenancy of up to two years. We have a dedicated support worker who helps these families re build their lives, organising furniture, sorting out utility bills, managing their finances offering emotional support.

For further information on this scheme please contact Trisha Hobbs via the Helpdesk on 0800 393890 (Freephone), 0845 603 7673 (Lo-call) or email: patricia.hobbs@accentnene.org
