We have unveiled our 19 new homes on Old Crown Way, Mitford Street, Filey, which have developed in partnership with Scarborough Council, and with the backing of Filey Town Council.
The new homes are a mixture of flats and houses. Six of the houses and all of the flats are for rent, and they will be offered to people in housing need on Scarborough Borough Council's housing register. Five of the homes are for sale as shared ownership to first time buyers from the local area.
Our 24 new two and three bedroom houses in Woodlesford, Leeds, are the latest to be completed in our three year partnership to build over 300 new homes across the city with Leeds City Council.
The new homes, on Stonewaite Close, bring the total to 325 new homes on eight sites in the south and west of Leeds at a cost of over £29,000,000.
The partnership has not only brought new homes to the community, but also jobs and training for local people. In total, 33 new jobs and 24 apprenticeships have been created.
Although our development activity has reached its end, our partnership will continue to serve the people of Leeds long into the future.
As part of our community investment strategy - our commitment to investing in your homes and estates - we were pleased to launch our horticulture and landscape gardening partnership with Yorkshire Housing.
We have taken on 12 apprentices aged 16 – 19, and several are residents or family members of residents. With training and mentoring, we’ll help them learn landscaping skills, under the watchful eye of our supervisor and teams of caretakers.
You are invited to our event on Saturday 21 July to see the work the apprentices are doing. You can make your own hanging baskets and there will be free activities for children. If you’d like to come, please email or ring Emma Sharp, emma.sharp@accentgroup.org, 01274 728 377 for more details. Everyone is welcome. We look forward to seeing you.
Our Good Neighbour, Good Landlord and Good Letting Agents Agreement was officially launched on Valentine's day by Durham County Council's cabinet member for housing, Councillor Clive Robson.
As part of our plan to sustain and develop Horden's numbered streets, we have worked alongside local housing providers Castledene and Acorn to draw up an agreement of 25 standards backed by 11 local organisations, including Horden Residents' Association, which will improve life for residents.
The standards put a responsibility on residents to, for example, consider neighbours, report anti-social behaviour, make sure children are good neighbours, maintain homes, keep yards clean and manage pets.
